Story Line: Rikku appears twice in game. You first meet her when you wake up in Spira, finding yourself aboard the Al Bhed ship. She seems mean at first, but she actually helps you out, explaining things to you in English. Rikku doesn't appear again until later in the game, but this time she joins your party for good. Rikku is actually Yuna's cousin, since her dad is Cid, who is also Yuna's uncle. She's a kind-hearted person full of energy and skilled at using and disabling machina. Rikku joins your party in order to help save Yuna, and also to defend the honor of the Al Bhed against the people who hate them. Story Line Score: 10

Overall Battle Performance: Final Fantasy X has a completely new battle system and magic system to go along with all the other changes to this fabulous game. In battle, it is not only possible to change the weapons and armor of the characters, but it is also possible to switch characters around, even bring in ones that are not in your party. This is a great advantage, because you can use everyone's skills to defeat enemies and bosses instead of blindly going into battle and hoping you picked good characters. Weapons are bought at shops, as usual, and come with special abilities attached and also with the ability to customize your own abilities. But perhaps the most interesting part of Final Fantasy X's battle system is the Sphere Grid, an elaborate web of spheres which contain power ups and also abilities each character can learn. With spheres won in battle, your characters can eventually cover the entire grid, learning every spell and gaining ever power up they can get. Each character has their own color, so you can see where everyone else is and has been around the grid. Each character also has and Overdrive, special attacks they can perform depending on which setting you choose. Rikku uses claws and knuckles and such as weapons, and typical of these types of weapon users, she first learns the steal and mug abilities. Rikku also can use items from your inventory, especailly Al Bhed potions, which give 1000 HP to the whole party and gets rid of a few status effects on the side. Stealing is very important in this game because the items recieved can help strengthen your weapons or your aeons. Her overdrive is called Mix, and with it you can select two items from your inventory to mix together and toss out. There are hundreds of different combinations, some with positive effects on your party as well, so try as many as you can! Overall Battle Performance Score: 8

Overall Contribution: Rikku saves you in a lot of tight spots throughout the game. Al Bhed potions are for a while the only thing that can cure your party all at once, and without Yuna there to help you, you really need Rikku! Overall Contribution Score: 10

My Opinion: Where would I be without Al Bhed potions...stuck in the desert somewhere, that's for sure. And since you know Rikku, you get to use her dad's airship. Hey, there's only one character in this game who's -not- getting a 10 from me, so don't wonder about that anymore. My Opinion Score: 10

Rikku's Average Score: 9.5
